John Goss/Bartlett, Ford XA Falcon GT, Bathurst Winner 1974
A DAY FULL OF ACTION The 1974 Bathurst race began with poor track conditions which ensured the day was eventful with a high attrition rate. John Goss and Kevin Bartlett started third and in the early stages were fortunate enough to stay out of trouble. But later, on top of the mountain Goss hit an embankment, suffering a puncture and was then forced to limp back to the pits. In an act of great sportsmanship Allan Moffat donated a set of wet weather tyres, allowing them to continue. In a well-deserved victory Goss and Bartlett had won the 1974 Bathurst race on a day of extraordinary circumstances which was full of action.
