Mostert’s rise began with his debut at the Perth 360 in 2013 for DJR, where he made an immediate impression, claiming his first Supercars race win later that season at the Ipswich 360. From the outset, it was clear that Chaz didn’t waste time announcing himself. His combination of a relaxed, approachable personality off the track and a fearless, attacking style behind the wheel quickly made him a fan favourite.

Over the course of 12 seasons, those qualities helped shape one of the championship’s most consistent and respected competitors. His breakthrough in 2025 came as he became just the 28th driver to win the ATCC/Supercars Championship. The achievement also continued a trend of new champions, making Mostert the third first-time title winner in as many years, following Brodie Kostecki in 2023 and Will Brown in 2024.

Mostert’s triumph carried even greater historical weight for his team. He delivered the Walkinshaw organisation its first drivers’ championship since 2002, when Mark Skaife claimed the last of his five titles and completed a remarkable hat-trick with the then-Holden Racing Team. For Walkinshaw and for Mostert, the 2025 crown marked the culmination of years of persistence, evolution, and belief.
