The year is 1985 and the winds of change have swept through Australian motorsport, leaving Group C a mere memory and Group A the new “main game” category for the foreseeable future. But what to do with the cars that were obsolete overnight? Gary Scott, co-driver for George Fury in the 1984 James Hardie 1000, took the Bluebird and flew the coop.

With Howard Marsden’s consent and backing from Nissan Sport, Scott borrowed the Bluebird and with little more than a snazzy Armstrong Nissan paint job, sent it into the battle in the latter part of the 1985 Australian GT / Sports Sedan Championships. It ruffled more than a few feathers, by not only clinching pole position and snagging second place in the Queensland Super Sedan Championship, held at Surfer’s Paradise.

This 1:43 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high detail sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed racing cockpit and undercarriage.
