1:50 Scale. DRAKE Mack Bicentennial Superliner. NED KELLY

Ned Kelly was an infamous Australian outlaw and folk figure born in 1854 in Victoria. He grew up in a poor Irish-Australian family and clashed with colonial authorities from a young age, which shaped his deep distrust of police.

Kelly became the leader of the “Kelly Gang,” a group of bushrangers who carried out bank robberies and evaded police in the 1870s. He gained notoriety for his bold crimes, detailed “Jerilderie Letter” criticizing the government, and his homemade suit of iron armor, which he wore during his final confrontation with police.

His criminal career ended after the violent Glenrowan siege in 1880, where he was captured. Later that year, Ned Kelly was tried and executed by hanging at age 25.

Today, he remains a controversial figure in Australian history—seen by some as a ruthless criminal, and by others as a symbol of resistance against injustice and colonial authority
