Chaz Mostert

Australian Motorsport has watched this kid grow into a young man over the years since Chaz “Mozzie” Mostert  graced the Supercar series in 2013.  He debut at the Perth 360 replacing Jonny Reid in the Dick Johnson Racing Falcon.

The Australian Motorsport community has watched Chaz battle the mountain with many emotions including tears of happiness when taking out the Bathurst 1000 in 2014, with Paul Morris. What a Bathurst to remember! Let me set the scene, it is the kid’s second fulltime season and he is starting from the back of the pack, in dead last after being excluded from qualifying. In the final lap he is overtaking multiple champion Jamie Whincup who was low on fuel, leaving Whincup behind to take the checked flag. The words “Cough, you bastard, cough” will be etched in Ford Fans minds for years to come. Tears of sadness came in 2015 when a terrifying accident at the top of the mountain seen Chaz air lifted to hospital with a broken leg and wrist. The mountain can be so cruel!

Bathurst may have a love hate relationship with Chaz but other tracks around Australia love him. Chaz has over 13 race wins, over 18 pole positions and over 44 podium finishes. Mostert also set the record of winning Bathurst in the lowest ever starting position.
